Uncategorized | 12.22.08

“Real Talk” is a program sponsored by ACTION Wyoming to reduce student violence and present healthy lifestyle alternatives. Wedgwood Christian Services, Positive Youth Development Program, partnered with ACTION for this first Real Talk program of 8 sessions.

Kelvin Jackson served as facilitator for the 8 week program. The 8th session was December 17 when the students enjoyed a pizza party, gift bags that included Freedom Writers Diary, journal, “Prisoner of The American Dream”, Leland Band CD, $10 Rivertown Cinema  Gift Card and a completion certificate.

The group shared many ways “Real Talk” has helped them and want to continue meeting in another format, possibility in an after school setting.

Thanks to Rogers High School staff Katie Pennington, Principal and Nicole Smith, Counselor for their support

ACTION Wyoming is planning other sites and programs in local Wyoming schools that will support and encourage positive lifestyle choices.
